This year we are combining all former community events into one Health and Wellness event called Age Well Brazos! which will be at the Brazos Center. This one-day event for community adults will focus on healthy aging topics such as Fall Prevention and Chronic Disease Management (with a Diabetes focus) while also enjoying a light lunch and gaining vital knowledge from healthy aging vendors and experts. We envision attendees visiting multiple booths that can provide the following:

  • Free health screenings for chronic conditions such as blood pressure, height and weight, blood glucose testing STEADI toolkit for Falls, etc.
  • Fall Prevention activities such as a Falls escape room, balancing testing, etc.
  • Information about free or low cost community resources to age well in the Brazos Valley

Additionally, we have two breakout sessions with panels comprised of healthcare, academic and community experts focused on Falls Prevention and Chronic Disease Self-Management. Age Well Brazos! will be well publicized through various community media such as radio, newspaper ads, Senior Wellness communities, community calendars and local store pharmacies.
